* TOP Screen* TOP Software* TOP SelfieMidrange

EDITORIAL: Pixel 10 Pro brings a new Tensor chip produced by TSMC's 3nm manufacturing process. The screen is slightly brighter and battery (still old, Lithium tech) is just 170nAh larger. Android 16 brings in the 1st gen of build-in desktop replacement functionality to Pixel Pro phones. All cameras are the same as on 9 Pro but have some new AI tricks and the tele lens can focus closer. Qi2 wireless charging adds a cool touch.

PROs
one-hand flagship grade hardware, 2200nits super-bright 495ppi sharp LTPO OLED screen with HDR10+, IP68 protection, reliable 50MP OIS main + 48MP OIS periscope telephoto + 48MP ultrawide (all PDAF) camera performance, excellent 42MP PDAF selfie, good (but not class-leading) video recording, 7 years of OS update promise, new desktop replacement functionality, fast USB-C 3.2 port, Satellite SOS Service
CONs
midrange chip Tensor G5 with UFS 4.0 (3.1 on the 128GB version) performance, only 24hr endurance with 88min slow 30W wired charging (15W wireless) of old-tech Li 4870mAh battery, sub-500Hz PWM screen dimming rate will cause headaches for some users, same camera hardware as on 9 Pro, no SDmemory expansion

EDITORIAL: Honor 500 Pro midranger is actually a paired-down flagship: the 1-year old Snapdragon 8 Elite processor and camera setup and performance (now with periscope telephoto) take it out of the "midrange" territory while excellent build and feature rich MagicOS confirm this to be a proper flagship-killer phone. Too bad this is a China-only phone...

PROs
great build, fast 8 Elite with UFS 3.1 performance, 48hr endurance from a massive 8000mAh Si-C battery (in a 74mm body!) with sub-90min 80W (50W wireless) charging, >1600nits bright 460ppi AMOLED screen with HDR10+, IP69 protection, excellent imaging from a 200MP OIS PDAF main + 50MP OIS PDAF periscope telephoto + 12MP PDAF AF ultrawide setup, excellent 50MP selfie, very good videos, loaded and very useful MagicOS with 6 years of OS updates
CONs
China-only, relatively slow to charge (flagship Honor phones charge at 100W or 120W), no expandable memory, desktop replacement functionality or even video out, slow USB-C 2.0 port with OTG

Both phones here were scored by me, using the same ten categories, with no ads, sponsorships, or manufacturer relationships — this comparison is as objective and honest as it gets.
