EDITORIAL: In a change of direction, Google abandoned their first Fold's proportions (shorter and wider outer screen) for proportions that match other book-like foldable phones. 9 Pro Fold comes with a newer Tensor chip (4nm), smaller battery and (mostly) the same imaging setup.

excellent build, >2000nits bright >400ppi 120Hz OLED outer screen and >2000nits 380ppi 120Hz LTPO OLED inner screen with HDR10+, immersible IPX8 protection, very average imaging from a 48MP 25mm OIS main + 10.5MP 112mm OIS tele + 10.5MP ultrawide (all with PDAF) setup, average performance from the 2 10MP 23mm PDAF selfie cameras (but you can use the main setup), average video recording, a promise of 7 years of OS updates, fast USB-C 3.2 port and Satellite SOS Service option
CONs
chunky bezels on both screens, mediocre Tensor G3 with UFS 3.1 performance, 24hr endurance (outer screen, will last less if you use the inner screen too) 4650mAh lithium battery with >90min slow 21W (7.5W wireless) charging, no expandable memory, no desktop replacement functionality

FOLD* TOP Selfie* TOP Battery Endurance
EDITORIAL: Xiaomi's third fold phone is great performer and best fold phone in terms of endurance, showing the big(er) dogs what's possible. It's cameras produce excellent pics and the multitasking on the inner screen is great (but not class leading). Mix Fold 3 falls short on (confusing name,) screen brightness and sharpness, and very short on IP protection and availability.
PROs
fast Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 with UFS 4.0 performance, long 36hr endurance from a 4800mAh lithium battery with sub-50min 66W (50W wireless) charging, excellent pics from 50MP 23mm main + 10MP 75 telephoto + 10MP 115 periscope telephoto (all 3 OIS PDAF) + 12MP 15mm ultrawide, two 20MP 23mm selfies (but you can take selfies with the main camera), stable and very functional OS
CONs
>1200nits >400ppi LTPO OLED+ screen with Dolby Vision (outer is >1200nits AMOLED), no IP protection to speak of, no AF on ultrawide or on selfies, average video recording, no expandable memory, short OS update policy, no desktop replacement functionality despite good multi window on inner screen, China only
