EDITORIAL: Edge is Motorola's top line and the Edge 70 is a better phone then it's predecessor despite loosing the periscope telephoto lens and the expandable memory slot. What it gained is more important: metal frame, a better processor, better main and ultrawide shooters, a better selfie and longer OS update support. Edge is also only 6mm thick so it is in direct competition with iPhone Air and Samsung Galaxy Edge. Excellent build, attractive design, great screen, top protection against the elements and excellent Android version with some desktop replacement functionality.

great design and build, relatively compact at 74mm wide, good SD 7 Gen 4 performance with UFS 3.1, fast sub-50min 68W wired (15W wireless) charging, >1400nits bright 450ppi P-OLED screen with HDR10+. IP69 protection with MIL-STD-810H protection, reliable photos from 50MP 24mm OIS PDAF main + 50MP 12mm PDAF ultrawide back cameras, very good imaging from 50MP 21mm selfie, good video recording, up to 4 years of stable Moto OS updates and some desktop replacement functionality.
CONs
24hr battery endurance from a smallish 4800mAh Si-C diode battery, low PWM dimming will bother some users, no telephoto lens, no AF on selfie, gone is the SDmemory, slow USB-C 2.0 port with no Display Port tech (but there is wireless screen mirroring), pricy compared to last model

EDITORIAL: Samsung brought it's top 200MP main camera (from S25 Ultra) to their best foldable. It also added AF to the ultrawide but unfortunately kept the telephoto at just 10MP. The phone is now significantly thinner compared to Z Fold 6 (from 5.6mm to 4.2mm when unfolded) but noticably wider compared to past models (72.8mm vs 68.1mm on Z Fold 6 and 67.1mm on Z Fold 5). Battery tech, endurance and charging remain the same, a disappointing performance from the world's biggest phone maker.

not as one-hand-friendly as it used to be, embarrassing lack of battery tech and performance improvement, 90min 25W slow charging, disappointing telephoto camera performance, no AF on either selfie, no SDmemory slot, Samsung's persistent effort to lock its customers into the phone & accessories echo-system
