EDITORIAL: After competing with entry-level and midrange phones, Nothing claims it is ready to offer a flagship. The Phone (3) is their first attempt. It comes with just below top-shelf components, stabile and very functional OS with some useful new AI features. Nothing decided to replace the glyph interface that company's phones were known for with a dot matrix back screen of 489 LEDs that can provide a more contextual interaction.

PROs
unique and recognizable design with a see-through back panel, good SD 8s Gen 4 with UFS4.0 performance, 1-day endurance from a 5150mAh Si-C battery with 60min 65W charging (15W wireless), IP68 protection, 3 reliable 50MP cameras (main and periscope tele with OIS PDAF), good 50MP (no AF) selfie, good video recording, 5 years of updates of Nothing's mature and unique OS with (AI powered) Essential Space feature and a dedicated hardware button
CONs
boxy body, no SDmemory, no desktop replacement feature, slow USB-C 2.0 with no video-out

EDITORIAL: Vivo took a bit longer then their usual 6 months to produce an upgrade of excellent V70. This time, the chip and cameras are the same, battery got a 700mAh boost, screen is 144Hz (from 120Hz) but a significant change is in memory: it tops at 8GB (was up to 12GB) and a 128GB model is introduced to throw us back to 2025 V60 times. Despite Zeiss branded lenses, this V phone is not a top tier camera among midrange phones any more as Vivo decided to compete on price and sacrificed some quality.

PROs
attractive iPhone-Pro-copy design, good build, good SD 7 Gen 4 (4nm) with UFS 4.1 (3.1 on 128GB version) performance, >30hr endurance from a 7200mAh Si-C battery with sub-60min 90W charging, >1800nits 460ppi 144Hz AMOLED screen with HDR10+, IP69 protection, reliable if lacking in sharpness 50MP 23mm main + 50MP 73mm periscope telephoto (both OIS PDAF) + 8MP 15mm ultrawide setup, excellent 50MP 21mm PDAF selfie, good video recording from main and below average on other lenses, up to 4 years of stabile OriginOS updates
CONs
SD 7 Gen 4 may struggle to deliver good performance after a few OS updates, no LTPO tech and higher refresh rate deny what could have been stellar battery endurance, no AF on a below average ultrawide, no expandable memory, no desktop replacement functionality, slow USB-C 2.0 port (with OTG), speakers could be louder
