EDITORIAL: (this is a pre-test listing based on reasonable expectation of battery, screen and imaging performance) Following this year's tend, OnePlus is also releasing a "mini". Their version could be a real hit with a top processor, Silicone Carbon aided battery and fast charging, a great 6.3" screen, IP69 protection and a very good camera setup. Limited to China but sold in India as OnePlus 13S.

EDITORIAL: Replacing the Redmi Note 15 Pro+, Xiaomi turned it's focus to phone's autonomy while making unexpected choices. The battery size improved significantly while ignoring the screen refresh rate improvment possibilities and dropping max brightness down to ~1100nits - seriously compromising sunlight visibility. To keep the phone in the same price segment, processor has been downgraded, main camera went from 200 to 50MP and nothing else was added to justify an upgrade.

okay SD 6 Gen 5 with UFS 4.1 (2.2 on 128GB version) performance, >42hr endurance from a huge 9200mAh (there is also a 10000mAh version!) battery with 60min 100W charging, IP69 with 3m drop protection, some good shots from a 50MP 26mm OIS PDAF main lens, stable HyperOS with up to 6 years of updates
CONs
230g despite plastic built, SD 6 Gen 5 power may not support promised years of OS updates, endurance should be record breaking for a battery this size, inefficient 1100nits 430ppi 120Hz AMOLED screen with Dolby Vision and minimal screen refresh flexibility, below average 8MP 15mm fixed focus ultrawide lens, no expandable memory, no desktop replacement functionality despite OS support for it, slow USB-C 2.0 port (with OTG)
