EDITORIAL: (this is a pre-test listing based on reasonable expectation of battery charging, screen brightness and imaging performance) OnePlus left the EU and USA markets but its new flagship is not showing any signs of compromise. It doubled down on battery and screen while improving imaging too. This is a proper top-of-the-line flagship.
PROs
very fast SD 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 (2nm) with UFS 4.1 performance, >48hr endurance from a massive 9000mAh Si-C battery with >60min 100W (50W wireless) charging, >1300nits 450ppi 188Hz LTPO AMOLED screen with Dolby Vision, IP69 protection (down to 2m for 30min), up to 4 years of updates for feature and AI integration rich OxygenOS, fast USB-C 3.2 port, hardware button assignable to different functions
CONs
thick and wide - hard to fit in pocket or use one-hand, massive 9000mAh could be an overkill, no expandable memory slot, no video out option to access Android 17's native desktop replacement functionality, limited market availability

EDITORIAL: Find X9 Ultra may come on the tail end of Ultra models (after Apple, Xiaomi, Honor, Samsung and Vivo but just before Huawei) but this is the phone to compete with the best cameras phones. The battery endurance score may boost it's standing but screen brightness and phone's size (and cost) will make you consider alternatives.
PROs
solid build, fast Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 with UFS 4.1 performance, 36hr endurance from a 7050mAh Si-C battery with sub-50min 100W (50W wireless) charging, outstanding >500ppi 144Hz LTPO AMOLED screen with Dolby Vision, IP69 protection, outstanding imaging from a 200W 23mm OIS main + 200MP 70mm OIS and 50MP 230mm OIS periscope telephotos + 50MP 14mm ultrawide (all 4 with PDAF), excellent 50MP 21mm PDAF selfie, excellent video recording, up to 5 years of OS updates, Mind Space and deep AI integration with access to multiple AI bots, a fast USB-C 3.2 port with OTG and iPhone-like camera control touch pad
CONs
(8.7mm) thick and (235g) heavy, sharp frame edges may force you to put it in a case (making the whole thing hard to carry around), sub-1300nits dim screen, no expandable memory, no desktop replacement functionality or Video Out, expensive
Both phones here were scored by me, using the same ten categories, with no ads, sponsorships, or manufacturer relationships — this comparison is as objective and honest as it gets.
