Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 vs Motorola Razr 60 Ultra

EDITORIAL: After years of following Apple's lead with less innovation and more of trying to lock it's customers into the Samsung ecosystem, world's biggest phone maker is waking up again. The massive change doesn't stop with adoption of Silicone Carbon anode battery tech, it expands to new phones like this wide-fold model and the expected S27 Pro phone sometime early next year. Innovation effort is back and that's exactly what we should celebrate. The strange naming solution shouldn't confuse you - Z Fold 8 is not an upgrade of the Z Fold 7 - this is a brand new phone type in format invented by Huawei (Pura X Max, May 2026) and expected to also be adopted by Apple's first foldable phone in Sep 2026. As a first time effort, the Z Fold 8 shines with excellent build and screens and a mature software experience that includes DeX as well. But there is more good news: endurance is easily a full day and can go to proper 36hrs when the phone is used unfolded.

EDITORIAL: Motorola's top foldable phone is the flip phone to beat: great package includes everything you need except for a limited battery life (which most foldables struggle with). This one has great build, submersible IP protection, excellent screens and a triple 50MP camera system that misses a tele lens but delivers great pics and very good videos.
