Editorial

Samsung is making small improvements by giving the Z Fold the next processor, 2 much brighter LTPO screens, better protection against dust and water, and industry leading 7 years of OS update promise. Sadly, the battery size is the same as last year and LTPO tech couldn't offset the high brightness enough to deliver any meaningful endurance improvement.

Pros & Cons

PROs
excellent compact build, fast Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 with UFS 4.0 performance, >1600nits bright LTPO AMOLED screens with HDR10+ tech, improved IP48 (dust >1mm, down to 1.5m for 30min) protection, reliable pics from a 50MP 23mm main + 10MP 66mm telephoto (both OIS PDAF) + 12MP 12mm ultrawide that also acts as a very good selfie, up to 7 years of very stabile and feature rich OneUI OS, excellent DeX included, stylus support, fast USB-C 3.2 port with OTG
CONs
lighter but with same size battery as Z Fold 5, barely a day of endurance from a small 4400mAh old-tech lithium battery with almost 90min slow 25W (15W wireless) charging, no full dust protection, no AF on ultrawide, mediocre selfie cameras in and out, average video recording, no memory expansion, no stylus slot - it has to be attached to a case or carried separately
